The state of the process for selecting goalkeepers under 17 in Algerian football: between the scientific basis and traditional methods

Abstract

The study aimed to find out how to choose the Algerian goalkeepers in football for the age group under 17 years old among the clubs from the west of Algeria. Based on our findings, the researchers recommend the need to include scientific observation in light of the results of the assessment programs to select our goalkeepers without forgetting to assign this task to the goalkeeper coaches.
