Abstract

The objective of the study is to demonstrate that the analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) can tell us about the impact of lifestyle changes on the circadian rhythm and physiological responses to training during Ramadan. Ten high-level runners participated in this study. The RR intervals were collected for 24 hours using the Polar team 2. The HRV analysis was performed with the Kubios HRV 2.2 analysis software. Our results showed fluctuations in the parameters of HRV.We conclude that several important factors must be taken into account in the interpretation of the effects of fasting. On this basis, the study recommended monitoring of HRV as a relevant tool for monitoring training.
