Abstract

The Object of the study aims assess selected teaching competencies among newly recruited physical education and sport teachers at the primary education level, for this purpose, we used the method the descriptive method. On a sample composed of On a sample composed of (62) teacher sphysical education and sport teachers at the primary education level. Chosen as purposefuly, and for data collection, we used a tool a questionnaire for the teaching competencies. After collecting the results and having treated them statisticallythe results revealed that newly recruited physical education and sport teachers possess moderate cognitive competence, high pedagogical implementation competence, and low evaluation competence. On this basis, the study recommended developing a specialized teaching competencies guide for physical education teachers and implementing continuous evaluation by education inspectors to identify strengths and weaknesses, adopt necessary reforms, enhance teacher effectiveness, and achieve curriculum objectives
