Abstract

The aim is to identify technical performance indicators that can distinguish a winning match from a drawing and / or lost match. The study is carried out on eleven (11) matches of the Algerian national team. The observed elements are divided into two categories; attack elements (number and barycenter of successful and unsuccessful passes, shots and % success shot) and defense elements. The results indicate that percentage of ball possession is higher when winning (64% ± 5%) than when losing (41% ± 0,5) (P <0.01) and drawing (51% ± 6%) (p<0.01). The number of successful passes is higher (p <0.01) than that lost or draw games. In won games, the barycenter of the ball recoveries, is higher in the matches won (p <0.01). the percentage of ball possession is the only one that predict match outcomes (SC = 0.35 >0.30).
