Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify technical and tactical performance indicators in the Professional Football League 1 (LFP1). 44 games from the 2015/2016 season were analysed, including 22 won games and 22 lost. Sixteen (16) technical-tactical elements (TT) were analyzed, including eleven (11) related to attack: possession, pass, successful pass (Nb and %), shot, shot on target, cross, corner, free kick, throw-in, 6 yards and goal; and five (5) related to the defense: foul committed, recovery of the ball, duel won, second ball won and yellow card. A binary logistic regression (nominal) was carried out. The results show that the positive indicators are: corners (obtained), shots on target and duels won, while the negative indicators are: total of passes, free kicks obtained, shots and the percentage of possession. These results demonstrate that performance in LFP1 is related to defensive activity. The logistics model drawn can be used as a tool to monitoring and preparing matches. The identification of performance indicators specific to Algerian football, allows Algerian’s coaches to target restricted and quantifiable objectives
