Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of two types of wormup; standard (SW) and potentiator (PW), on the judokas
performance; we determined the impact of PW on performance during a competition simulation by simulated fights on concept2
PM4, PM3 rowers. 18 senior male athletes aged 20 to 30, had to perform 2 experimental sessions spaced 72 hours apart, one with
the SW then with the PW,they had to cover a maximum of distances on the rowers. The results were that the athletes were
able to cover a longer distance with a PW than a SW, with less accumulated fatigue during the last simulated fights. We
concluded that an PW is more beneficial for judokas than an SW, by maintaining a good level of performance with better
fatigue management.
