Abstract

Physical and sports practice, in general, requires the analysis of a large amount of information intended to choose and produce a ast and effective motor response. For this purpose, cognitive functions (attention, memory, etc.) are involved in the processing of analysis, command and control and movement planning operations. These processes intervene in a hierarchical manner and largely
condition sports performance and to be effective, athletes must possess, in addition to physical and motor abilities, above-average perceptual-cognitive abilities. It's a descriptive work which aims is to address the contribution of the evaluation and training
of cognitive functions through the use of two psychomotor tests: Attention (STROOP, 1999) and Memory (FCR, Wallon and Mesmin, 2009) for the detection and selection of young sports talents.
