Abstract

The aim of the study is to determine whether there is a correlation between the fat mass index (FMI) and physical performances of the U17 category footballers. 30 players were submitted to tests for measuring the (FMI) by taking values of skin folds, while physical performance was measured using a battery of tests including two speed tests on 10 and 30 m, the (SJ, CMJ) for the explosive force of the lower limbs, the high bar traction test for upper limb strength, the YO-YO test for the endurance, the (AKRAMOV) test for the coordination and a "Seat and Reach" test for the quality of flexibility. The results revealed that FMI has a moderate negative correlation with the endurance and explosive strength test.
