Abstract

The research aims to suggest a psychomotricity programme that develops some Perceptual Motor Abilities capacities(the balance- stature- the body image and its distinction) among the learnable mentally handicapped children .
The searcher supposed that the suggested programme influences positively the cognitive and motor capacities of this category of children.
-The searcher used the experimental method because it is suitable to the question of testing the assumptions and be sure of its correctness or negate it
.This is why The pre-testing and the post -testing methods were applied on a sample of 20 learnable mentally handicapped child, aged between 9 and 11,divided into two groups discipliner 10 children and experimental 10 children .He used Bordo tests to measure the cognitive and motor capacities.
-The most important conclusion we arrived at is :The suggested psychomotricity programme has positively influenced the improvement of the Perceptual Motor Abilities capacities ( balance- stature –body image and its distinction) among the learnable mentally handicapped children .The searcher recommends to use the suggested programme in preparing the syllabus of the
adapted physical education in centers specialized for mentally handicapped children.
