Caractéristiques Morphologiques Et Physiologiques D’enfants Scolarisés âgés De (7-11) Ans De La Région D’alger

The practice of a sport is beneficial for the development and the growth of the child; it strengthens the skeleton, improves the physical condition by strengthening the heart and the lungs, help the child to move well his body, prevents the risks of overweight. The child is endowed with surprising physiological capacities which encourâge to the performance. The aim of this study is to establish comparisons of biometric and physical aptitudes between a group of school pupils âged 7-11 who do not practise sport and physical activity, from the district of Bab El Oued situated in the center of Algiers and another group of pupils with the same âge, from the district of Hydra and who practise sport and physical activity. A sociological enquiry was made to get information about life conditions and sport practice of the pupils; 394 pupils among whom 205 girls and 189 boys with an averâge âge of 09 ± 1,60 years; took part in anthropometric measures ( weight, height, skinfolds and corpulent marks) and in tests of physical capacity.
The results shows that the averâge height of pupils who practise sport and physical activity is significantly different from those who do not practise it and this at the âge of 8-9-10-11, in girls and at the âge of 9-10-11, in boys at the limits of and the girls at p< 0, 05 and p< 0,001. The boys who don’t practise physical activity and sport get significant differences in the speed quality and having at all âges, as for girls they are faster and having more endurance at the âge of 7- 8 and 9. These pupils present a good physical condition thanks to the usual activity; besides, they have to benefit from a regular and regulated physical activity, encourâge the creation of the sports associations of districts. These pupils could be selected and directed to the athletics.
