Abstract

For decades, many studies have addressed the notion of threshold in sports training given its importance in optimizing of the effort. However, the terminology varies depending on the method of measurement and the method of determining this threshold. There are several notions such as the aerobic and anaerobic threshold, the lactate threshold 1 and 2, the ventilatory threshold 1 and 2, and in this respect, different authors have reported many contradictions, and many received ideas, often erroneous, were conveyed to sports actors. In this article, we present an analysis of the contradictory results of several previous studies on the notion of threshold.
