Freedom of Practicing Audiovisual Sports Media After Media Pluralism in Algeria- An Analytical Reading of Audiovisual Law No. 14-04-

Abstract

The Object of the study aims to identify the boundaries and regulatory frameworks governing the freedom of audiovisual sports media in Algeria under Law No. 14-04, for this purpose, we used the descriptive-analytical and comparative methodology On a sample composed of three key media laws. Chosen as Purposefully, and for data collection, we used Legal text content analysis asa tool, After collecting the results and After collecting and analyzing the information, we conclude: Law No. 14-04 lacks explicit guarantees for the freedom of audiovisual sports media and does not recognize it as an independent sector. Private sports channels operate in a partial legal vacuum, and journalists in this field lack specific legal protection. On this basis, the study recommended A comprehensive revision of Law 14-04, authorize specialized sports channels, and establish legal provisions that ensure freedom and address the specific nature of audiovisual sports media.
