The work carried out in this study, which consists of a contribution to the biomechanical analysis of the mae geri technical gesture in karate, aims at evaluating the intersegmental coordination of the mae geri technique carried out by two elite karatekas, one specialist in kumite, the other in kata. The evaluation of the intersegmental coordination was carried out based on classical approaches (kinematic profiles), but also via a calculation of continuous relative phases. The results indicated that the techniques and means used gave convincing results in evaluating intersegmental coordination.
