Corrigenda and Retractions Policy

Corrigenda and Retractions Policy

  1. Corrigenda

In compliance with the policies of the Journal of Physical and Sports Activities Sciences and Technologies, the following procedures apply:

  • Occurrence of Errors: A corrigendum may be issued to address errors arising during the production process of an article or to correct mistakes made by the authors.
  • Criteria for Publication: Corrections are published if (1) the integrity of the scientific record is substantially affected, or (2) a minor portion of an otherwise reliable article is found to be inaccurate or misleading due to inadvertent errors.
  • Publication Format:
    • The correction note is appended to the issue, with the article type designated as “Corrigendum” and the title explicitly labeled as “Corrigendum.”
    • The corrigendum is freely accessible to all readers.
    • The note provides a clear description of the error and transparently details the corrections made.
    • The online version of the article is corrected, with the PDF version including a link to the correction note.
    • The correction note and the corrected article are cross-linked for ease of reference.

Note: Corrigenda are reserved for corrections that significantly affect the scientific record, while minor changes may be indicated via a footnote in the online version.

  1. Retractions

The journal adheres to COPE Retraction Guidelines in the evaluation and handling of retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern:

  • Evaluation Process: Retractions are assessed according to COPE guidelines to ensure fairness, transparency, and scientific integrity.
  • Retraction Procedure:
    • If an investigation determines that a retraction is necessary, a retraction note is published in the relevant issue, titled “Retraction Note: (Article Title).”
    • The note is freely accessible to readers and clearly indicates who is retracting the article and the objective reasons for the retraction.
    • The original article PDF and any supporting files remain online, each marked with a “Retracted Article” watermark.
    • Online metadata is updated to include “Retracted Article:” before the full title, with a link to the retraction note.
    • The retraction note and the retracted article are cross-linked for reference.

Exceptional Cases: In rare instances where article content must be removed to comply with legal obligations (e.g., defamation, privacy violations, or legal restrictions), the metadata remains online with a note explaining the removal.
