Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the symbolic violence faced by gender "gender" through social networks through two perspectives, the first of which is the theory of value determinism which is based on "value" as a key variable in the interpretation and understanding of this phenomenon, while giving culture a pivotal and fundamental place in the interpretation process, and considering that symbolic violence is one of the concepts touched upon by this theory, but symbolic violence through this theory has a value dimension where its practitioners believe that they have the right to practice this type of violence on minorities outside of custom, religion and prevailing values, as is the case with gender, and therefore what they are doing is a positive value The second is a social perspective, represented by Goffman's social stigma theory, which refers to an inferiority relationship that deprives an individual of the eligibility for full social acceptance due to his difference from the prevailing social custom, as is the case with gender .
