Peer Review Process
The International Journal of Social Communication (IJSC) employs a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process to ensure the quality, originality, scientific validity, and ethical integrity of all published research. Under this model, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process, thereby ensuring impartiality, fairness, and independent academic evaluation.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening conducted by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor. During this stage, manuscripts are assessed for their relevance to the journal's aims and scope, compliance with the Author Guidelines, ethical requirements, originality, and overall suitability for external peer review.
Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary editorial assessment are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with recognized expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, publication record, research experience, and the absence of any conflict of interest.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts according to internationally recognized scholarly standards, including:
- Originality and contribution to scientific knowledge.
- Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
- Scientific quality and methodological rigor.
- Validity of data analysis and interpretation.
- Clarity, organization, and academic writing quality.
- Appropriate use of references and citations.
- Compliance with publication ethics and research integrity.
Following the peer review process, the editorial decision may be one of the following:
- Accept without revision.
- Accept subject to minor revisions.
- Major revisions required before reconsideration.
- Reject the manuscript.
Authors receiving revision requests are expected to submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response to reviewers explaining how each comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers when necessary.
The final publication decision is made solely by the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned Handling Editor after careful consideration of the reviewers' reports and the journal's editorial standards.
The journal maintains strict confidentiality throughout every stage of the peer review process. Manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and related documents are treated as confidential and are accessible only to authorized editorial staff.
The journal adheres to the ethical principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to ensuring a transparent, fair, timely, and unbiased peer review process.
