Ethics of Scientific Research and Responsibilities of Stakeholders.

The Scientific Journal of Physical and Sports Activities Sciences and Technologies publishes original and peer-reviewed scientific articles, aiming to provide high-quality content to its readers by adhering to the principles of the publication ethics code and preventing unethical practices.

The ethical code is part of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and serves as the guiding framework for authors, researchers, and other stakeholders involved in the publication of articles in the journal. The journal strives to establish uniform conduct standards and ensures that everyone agrees to the ethics code's regulations. Therefore, it is fully committed to implementing these rules, accepting responsibility, and fulfilling the duties assigned to each party involved.

Publisher's Responsibility:

  • Publication decision: The rights of copyright and citation of previous scientific works should be respected in order to protect the rights of others when publishing articles in the journal. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the decision to publish and print, relying on the journal's policy and compliance with legal publication requirements, especially concerning defamation, copyright violations, or plagiarism. The Editor-in-Chief may consult with editorial board members or reviewers to make this decision.
  • Integrity: The Editor-in-Chief ensures that the content of every article submitted for publication is evaluated fairly, regardless of the author's gender, origin, religious belief, nationality, or political affiliation.
  • Confidentiality: Information regarding the article authors must be kept strictly confidential and protected by all parties who have access to it, such as the Editor-in-Chief, editorial board members, or anyone involved in the editorial and publishing process, as well as other authorized parties involved in the peer-review process.

Commitments and Ethical Rules Applicable to the Review Process

  1. Quality of the Scientific Review

    The editorial board assumes responsibility for ensuring the quality of the published content and continuously strives to enhance the scientific rigor of the journal by regularly renewing its pool of reviewers and scientific committees with professionalism. The affiliations of editorial members and international committees are transparently displayed on the journal’s website.

  2. Freedom of Expression and Scientific Debate

    Articles are selected in accordance with principles of academic integrity, with special attention given to works contributing to scientific debate. Objective critiques of published articles are accepted, as well as authors’ responses to such critiques, thereby fostering constructive scientific dialogue.

  3. Independence from Political or Commercial Interests

  7. Procedures in Case of Unethical Conduct

    Complaints about unethical practices can be submitted at any time by any individual. They are taken seriously and handled confidentially until resolution. Possible measures include:

    • Issuance of a formal warning.
    • Notification to the author’s employer.
    • Publication of corrections or apologies.

  8. Confidentiality of the Evaluation Process

    Peer review is strictly confidential, and no manuscript-related information is disclosed outside the review process. Any unpublished data or arguments contained in the contribution cannot be used or disclosed without prior consent from the authors.

  9. Editorial Processing and Error Correction

    Accepted manuscripts undergo thorough editorial work in collaboration with the authors. If a substantive error is discovered post-publication, the journal promptly informs the authors so that they can propose corrections or justify the validity of their work.

Commitments and Ethical Rules for Expert Reviewers :

  • Contribution to the publication decision: The reviewer assists the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial board in making the publication decision and also helps the author improve and correct the article.
  • Service speed and adherence to deadlines: The reviewer must take the initiative and quickly evaluate the article assigned to them via the ASJP platform within the specified deadlines. If this is not possible after an initial review of the article and the topic is outside their area of expertise, they should click on the rejection icon to decline the review.
  • Objectivity: The reviewer must support their review and evaluation of the research with objective arguments and evidence, avoiding judgments based on personal opinions, personal tastes, racial, sectarian, or other biases.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers and editorial members must recuse themselves if conflicts of interest exist with the authors or manuscript content.
  • Data Confidentiality: The review process remains strictly confidential, and no information about the manuscript may be disclosed or used for other purposes without consent.
  • Integrity : Reviewers express their opinions objectively and with supporting arguments, avoiding personal criticism.
  • Multiple Publication and Redundancy: Reviewers should report any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published or simultaneously submitted works.
  • Bibliographic References: Reviewers must report any inappropriate use of other authors’ work without proper citation.

Commitments and Ethical Rules for Authors:

  • Preparation Standards: The author must submit an original research paper, presented accurately and objectively, in a scientifically consistent manner that complies with the specifications for peer-reviewed articles, both in terms of language, format, and content, in line with the journal’s publication policy and standards. The data should be presented correctly through: full citations, respecting others' rights within the article, and avoiding the presentation of sensitive, unethical, subjective, racial, sectarian topics, false or incorrect information, as well as translating others' works without citing the source of the quotation in the article.
  • Originality and Plagiarism: The author must demonstrate the originality of their work. Any quotation or use of passages or words from others must be appropriately and correctly cited. The "Scientific Journal of Physical and Sports Activities Sciences and Technologies" reserves the right to use plagiarism detection software for works submitted for publication.
  • Citation :Authors guarantee the originality of their work and commit to avoiding plagiarism or falsification, in accordance with intellectual property laws.
  • Declaration of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise, that may influence their work, as well as clearly state all sources of funding.
  • Author List: The list of authors must accurately reflect those who contributed substantially to the conception, execution, and analysis of the study, with written approval of the final version.
  • Truthfulness of Declarations: Authors commit to not including false or misleading statements in their manuscript.
  • Non-Duplication of Publication: The manuscript must not have been previously published nor be simultaneously submitted elsewhere.
  • Appropriate Citation: Authors must rigorously cite all sources used.
  • Editorial Collaboration: Authors cooperate with the editorial board to make necessary revisions before publication.
  • Post-Publication Error Correction: Upon detecting an error after publication, authors promptly notify the journal and collaborate on corrections.
  • Authorization for Printed and Digital Publication: Authors grant the journal the right to publish their work in both printed and digital formats, including official scientific platforms.
