Acceptance and Publication Conditions

Preliminary Formal Compliance:

Only articles that meet the formal criteria of the journal, as outlined in the coordination sheet and the formatting guide, will be accepted for scientific review.

Articles will be considered unacceptable if:

  • They do not include an integrated coordination sheet,
  • They do not adhere to the formatting criteria required for scientific publication.

These submissions will be rejected at the first stage, before any scientific evaluation. The authors concerned will be asked to reformat their articles according to the journal's criteria and then resubmit them.

Publication Fees:

Publication in the journal is entirely free of charge, from submission to online publication. No publication fees are required.
Costs related to formatting, language editing, or translation are the responsibility of the author, but only if the author chooses to entrust these tasks to an external service provider.

The author may:

  • Entrust the formatting to an external service provider of their choice, without any involvement from the journal;
  • Carry out the formatting themselves in accordance with the journal’s guidelines;
  • Or engage a professional of their choice for this purpose.

Final Submission Requirements:
In all cases, the author must submit a final version that fully complies with the journal’s standards and is ready for publication.

It is advisable to request a preliminary quotation before entering into any contractual agreement.

Training and Scientific Support:

The editorial team of the Journal of Sciences and Technologies of Physical and Sports Activities offers free training sessions for universities wishing to benefit from its expertise.

These workshops may include:

  1. Writing scientific articles in accordance with the standards accepted by academic journals.
  2. Professional formatting of scientific texts following methodologies validated by specialized international journals.
  3. Advanced management of styles and the application of formatting in line with the journal’s style guide.
  4. Workshops and training on data analysis and statistics related to research topics.
  5. Training on scientific writing tools such as LaTeX, for complex documents (equations, tables, extensive references).
  6. Introduction to best writing practices: structuring the article, citation standards, submission procedures, and publication ethics.

These sessions are available upon request and can be organized at any university or institution interested in establishing a pedagogical or scientific partnership with the journal.

Reminder:
Before any scientific evaluation, the article must be formally compliant: it must include a coordination sheet and adhere to the journal's formatting guide. The author can format the article themselves, hire a professional of their choice, or delegate the task to ÉDILES. Publication is free, and the only potential costs relate to formatting if this is outsourced to an external service provider.

Article Evaluation Process:

Step 1: Reception of the Article by the Editor-in-Chief
Once the article is submitted, it is received in the Editor-in-Chief's account. First, the Editor-in-Chief downloads the article and checks its compliance with the submission requirements, particularly whether it follows the article submission template.

Step 2: Plagiarism Check
After confirming that the formal criteria are met, the Editor-in-Chief runs the article through a plagiarism detection program to verify its similarity index.

  • If the similarity rate is acceptable (less than 20%), the article is accepted for review by the scientific committee.

Step 3: Review of the Article by the Scientific Committee
The article is then sent to three members of the editorial board, chosen based on the article's subject specialization. These members are responsible for evaluating the scientific content of the article, checking the relevance of the topic, the scientific quality, and the currency of the information presented.

Step 4: Acceptance or Rejection

  • In case of rejection: The author is informed of the rejection, with detailed reasons provided.
  • In case of acceptance: The article is anonymized by removing any identifying information about the author. It is then converted into a PDF file and forwarded to the assistant editor specialized in the article's field for the next step.

Step 5: Evaluation by Specialized Reviewers
The assistant editor selects at least two specialized reviewers in the subject area of the article. These reviewers receive the article in their account on the platform and are invited to provide feedback within a maximum of one month.

  • If the reviewers delay submitting their reports, the assistant editor or the Editor-in-Chief sends reminders via messages on the platform, with a maximum of four reminders before the article is reassigned to another reviewer.

Step 6: Response from the Experts
The reviewers' reports are assessed according to the following criteria:

  • If all three reports are positive and without reservations, the article is accepted for publication.
  • If two reports are negative, the article is rejected.
  • If one report is positive and another is negative, the article is sent to a third reviewer to decide on its relevance.
  • If two reports are negative and one is positive, the article is rejected.
  • If all three reports include reservations, the author is invited to address the concerns and resubmit the article for revision only by the reviewers who raised the reservations.

Step 7: Final Acceptance for Publication

  • Publication by Submission Order: Articles are published in the order in which they were submitted, with the first submitted article being published first, and so on.
  • Publication Dates : The article will be published either at the beginning of June or at the beginning of December each year, on the national scientific journals platform, as well as on the journal’s website and social media accounts.
