Ideological Affinities within Antonymy Pairs and the Construction of Media Frames During Media Coverage of Yahya Sinwar's Assassination: “Al Jazeera Newspaper Articles as a Model”

Our current study aims to uncover the ideological function of the semantic contradiction and media frameworks within Al Jazeera’s coverage of Sinwar’s martyrdom by adopting content analysis as a descriptive approach. We chose eight articles that narrate the events of the death within the intentional sample. The study concluded with several results; the most important are: The coverage favors the Palestinian cause, focusing on "courage and resistance" and "victimhood and solidarity," highlighting Yahya Sinwar as a national hero. The sample varied in its use of antonyms, with one of them standing out through the intense mobilization of semantic oppositional within an ideological dimension, as they were deliberately employed to highlight the suffering of the Palestinians, promote the ideology of resistance, and glorify Sinwar
