The reality of communication management of health crises in Algeria between theory and practice (a comparative analytical study of the German measles, cholera, and Covid-19 crises)

Abstract
This paper seeks to reveal the reality of the practice of communication management of health crises in Algeria and its compatibility with scientific literature in this field, by analysing a range of health crises that Algeria has experienced since 2018 (German measles, cholera, Covid-19 pandemic). Based on the iductive methodology, the case study methodology with the use of participatory observation tool, document and source analysis as well as interview. In order to conclude that the management of health crises in Algeria has been characterized by traditional remedies based on unexamined improvised decisions. This has led the health authorities to flop every time they face a crisis. Algerian health institutions at different levels of organizational level have not been well aware of the importance of communication in crisis management. This is confirmed by the absence of many crisis communication management mechanisms in the study sample.
