The Image of Palestinian Women in Palestinian Newspaper Websites During the 2023 Israeli War on the Gaza Strip. A Comparative Analytical Study

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the nature of the image of Palestinian women in Palestinian newspaper websites during the 2023 Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. The study falls under the category of descriptive research and employed both survey and correlational methodologies. The study sample consisted of 198 articles from three Palestinian newspaper websites: Falastin, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, and Al-Ayyam, covering a full year starting from October 7, 2023. The most significant findings were as follows: The image of the female martyr ranked first among the images of Palestinian women mentioned in the study websites, followed by the image of the wife of a martyr or prisoner. News articles were the most prevalent journalistic format used by the newspaper websites in addressing Palestinian women's issues.
