The presence of political satire in Algerian television drama

Abstract

 This study seeks to provide a look at the Algerian television drama, which adopted a method of irony to raise and address current political issues and events in the country, highlighting how its interest shifted from addressing social and historical issues to addressing political issues and enriching this shift in criticism of political reality, especially since satirical drama works to present messages with connotations in a way that is either virtual or implicit through some symbols and signs, speech, movements, decoration... As expressive means that carry meanings and connotations that explain to the viewer what is happening in the political reality within Algerian society in a light and fun way, through which they try to achieve many goals such as political awareness, guidance, entertainment, venting, news, laughter.
