This study investigates the impact of "echo chambers" on social networks media in shaping public opinion among Algerian users, focusing on their role in enhancing political and ideological polarization and spreading misinformation. The study also sought to analyze the mechanisms of these echo chambers and their effect on narrowing the exposure to diverse viewpoints, leading to the reinforcement and radicalization of personal convictions.
These findings offer valuable insights into the dynamics of echo chambers in contemporary social media environments. It was also found that engagement with political and ideological content is limited, as most users prefer to avoid political and ideological discussions, which enhances the phenomenon of echo chambers on these platforms. The study revealed that algerian users tend to accept information that aligns with their views, contributing to the polarization and narrowing the range of exposure to diverse viewpoints.
