Abstract

With technological advancements, free, volunteer networks of translators have emerged to defend ideas they consider just, such as the right to cultural and media diversity, the rejection of media dominance in all its forms, and related issues. This research aims to shed light on the modus operandi of one of these groups, the Translators' Network for Linguistic Diversity Tlaxcala, the types of issues they defend, and the extent of their contribution to countering Western hegemony and propaganda. This will include an analysis of the relationship between translation and the concept of media and communication from a theoretical perspective, while also analysing some of the content of this network's website.
