The future of enhancing media education in educational curricula in the light of the digital environment: A preliminary study from the perspective of a sample of media and communication teachers)

This field study aims to create accountability regarding the future of promoting media education in educational curricula in the context of the digital environment, from the perspective of a sample of media and communication science professors. It starts from an attempt to identify the mechanisms for enhancing media awareness among individuals, especially in light of the vast amount of information in the digital environment, then revealing the effectiveness of media education programs and their role in improving individuals' skills in dealing with digital information, leading to the challenges facing the implementation of media education programs in educational curricula. The study concluded that there is a need to adopt a clear strategy that includes developing comprehensive educational curricula that respond to current media challenges, by enhancing students' media critical thinking to become conscious consumers of media and informational content, and capable of active participation in the digital community.
