Covid19 strengh of power and/or speech; a new age of activation of rhetorical strategies in Emmanuel Macron's statements
Keywords:
Emmanuel Macron, political discourse, rhetoric, subjectivity, health crisisAbstract
Our reflection on Emmanuel Macron's presidential speeches, particularly those related to the epidemic spread of Covid19 , aims to identify the rhetorical process that is deployed. We combine both an argumentative and enunciative study based on the persuasion of French citizens to follow scientific recommendations, sanitary rules and preventive barrier gestures.
To do this, we will try to identify and analyze the linguistic achievements (markers of subjectivity) of Emmanuel Macron by highlighting their participation in the rhetoric in order to account for its impact on different social categories.
