Abstract
Attitudes of the Readership towards the Sudanese Paper press (A study on the readership in Khartoum and Nile River States) Abstract This study provides an accurate and scientific diagnosis of the Sudanese paper based press in light of the transformations witnessed in the press globally, by determining the readers' attitudes and identifying their characteristics, their exposure patterns and their preferences to their contents and form. The study belongs to the descriptive matrix, as it used the survey method and the questionnaire tool that was distributed to a sample of the study community in the states of the Nile River and Khartoum; its size reached (400) items, of which (300) were in Khartoum State for their population weight; and (100) in Nile River State. As the study revealed the readers' interest in following up the Sudanese paper newspapers because they provide comprehensive and varied services and focus on the investigative side of the problem, it also showed that the absence of paper newspapers from the Sudanese arena causes a large knowledge gap, and the study also demonstrated that the paper press cannot compete with the electronic press. Therefore, the study recommend responding to global developments and changes in the field of the press industry. And increasing interest in the psychological and social nature of newspaper readers.
