The Role of Official Communication in Shaping the Culture of the Institution-a Field Study at the University of Tebessa

Abstract

This study aimes to reveal  the role of official communication in shaping the culture of the institution, by revealing the nature of official communication prevailing at the university of tebessa, the means of official communication used in it, how official communication contributes to shaping organizational culture at the university, The study relied  on the survey method, and the questionnaire tool, and was applied to a sample of university employees. The most important results were that most of the respondents believe that the prevailing mode of official communication in the university is downward communication, and that the process of transferring information it is carried in  a written form  through official means, with a common language of symbols and signs to communicate between all organizational levels, the university takes into account the prevailing social customs and values when ​​ the communicative process.
