The role of practicing physical sports activities in developing social communication in children with autism disorder

Abstract

This study aims to highlight the role of practicing physical sports activities among children with autism disorder, by revealing the extent to which these activities contribute as a basic method based on sound scientific foundations to help autistic children overcome the manifestations of isolation, withdrawal, and weakness in social interaction skills, and this is what develops their spirit. Participation and interaction with others thus facilitates the process of integrating them, as the descriptive approach was used to suit the nature of the subject. With the reliance in collecting data on a questionnaire that serves the study, prepared by researcher Rahli Murad, and through field inspection with the study sample, which is intentional and consists of twenty children suffering from moderate degree of autism disorder, ranging in age from 8 to 11 years. They belong to the Challenge Center for Autism, affiliated with the Autism Society - located in Blida Province, where twenty questionnaires were distributed to the parents and supervisors of the sample, specialists and teachers, the results showed that physical sports activities have a positive role in developing social communication.
