Arab and Foreign research in the field of journalism and artificial intelligence: A comparative study of its trends, theoretical and methodological frameworks

Abstract

This study aimed to conduct a comparative meta-analysis of international and Arab research on artificial intelligence and journalistic practice. By analyzing 66 studies published between 2022 and 2024, the research sought to identify key trends, similarities, and differences in the research, exploring topics, issues, methodological approaches, results, and implications. The study revealed that the most prevalent topics identified in this research are journalists' perceptions and attitudes toward the adoption and use of artificial intelligence, and the effects of employing artificial intelligence on journalistic practice. Additionally, the study highlighted research gaps regarding the long-term societal impact of using artificial intelligence in media production and publication, as well as public attitudes toward these materials
