The Impact of Non-Hydrocarbon Exports from Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) on Economic Growth in Algeria: An Econometric Study, 1991–2024

This study analyzes the role of SME exports in diversifying Algeria’s economy from 1991 to 2024. FMOLS and ECM models assess the relationship between exports and economic growth, non-oil exports boost long-term growth but show no significant short-term impact. Energy exports significantly enhance growth in both the short and long term. The error correction term is negative and significant at 5%. It indicates that 30.07% of imbalance is corrected yearly, reaching equilibrium in about 3 years and 11 months.
